Auckland Transport supports carpooling as an alternative transport option and has established priority lanes, priority parks and transit lanes for carpoolers to use.

Priority carparks are available for carpoolers to use at the following sites:

  • Albany Busway Station - 45 prority carparks
  • Devonport Ferry Terminal - 29 priority carparks
  • Birkenhead Ferry Terminal - 19 priority carparks
  • Half Moon Bay Ferry Terminal - 18 priority carparks

Registration is open to individuals looking to find and share rides for their regular commute and for one-off events around Auckland. Auckland Transport also offers a comprehensive service for employers and tertiary institutions interested in setting up workplace carpool schemes.
