Carpooling is an easy way to reduce costs, meet new people and do your bit for the environment -  all by filling those empty seats.

Auckland Transport supports carpooling as an alternative transport option and has established priority lanes, priority parks and transit lanes for carpoolers to use.

Priority carparks are available for carpoolers to use at the following sites:

  • Albany Busway Station
  • Devonport Ferry Terminal
  • Birkenhead Ferry Terminal
  • Half Moon Bay Ferry Terminal

Registration is open to individuals looking to find and share rides for their regular commute and for one-off events around Auckland. Auckland Transport also offers a comprehensive service for employers and tertiary institutions interested in setting up workplace carpool schemes.
