Let's Carpool has been running successfully in the Wellington region for two years, and now its growing wings are venturing beyond the Wellington region. From around July, people living in Greater Christchurch will be able to use Let's Carpool as well. Welcome to our South Island carpoolers!

After the tragic February earthquake in Christchurch, the area has been plagued by congestion. Greater Wellington is working with the Greater Christchurch Urban Development Strategy Group to expand Let's Carpool and bring it to the people of Christchurch, to help ease some of the strain.

Over the coming weeks and months you may notice some changes to Let's Carpool. They'll just be cosmetic things, making sure people from Christchurch feel welcome on the website but the registration and matching process will be just the same. We look forward to extending the service to Greater Christchurch and hope that it goes some way towards making things a bit easier.
